About twice a year, Epiphany hosts an evening for newcomers to the parish to get to know one another and the clergy and parish leaders in an informal setting. Newcomers to the church are invited to speak to one of the clergy or fill out a pew card and put it in the offering plate so that they can be contacted by a lay leader or parish staff member. |

Each spring, Epiphany gathers in the sanctuary for our annual "Epiphany Under the Stars" dinner and auction in support of our Wednesday Evening Homeless Dinner program. Auction items range from the extravagant (a week's stay in a flat in London) to the modest (bottles of wine) to the unique (shooting a round of pool with the Rector). In 2008, we raised over $35,000 for our program at this event. The dinner is catered, and friends and family are most welcome to join us. The Wednesday Night Homeless Dinner Program feeds more than 100 homeless patrons a warm and nutritious meal each week. The dining space, heat, lights, etc., are provided and much of the food is donated by various bakeries, businesses and restaurants. Committed community volunteers prepare and serve the food and students from Cornell Medical School provide medical screenings under the supervision of a doctor. Each table has paper table cloths, cutlery, the three course meal of salad, entrée and dessert are individually served and most people get “seconds” as well.
For more information on how you can donate or participate in this worthwhile event please contact us at 212-737-2720. |
