Lay Eucharistic Visitors and Pastoral Visitors are trained to bring the sacraments and a listening presence to those who are ill, whether homebound or in hospitals. We currently send Lay Eucharistic Visitors each week to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. To request a visit from one of our volunteers, or to get more information on how to participate in this ministry of visitation, please contact the church office at 212-737-2720. 
Epiphany's Parish Nurses are available to answer questions from parishioners about their medical care or prescriptions. They send cards to homebound parishioners, and assist on Sundays if anyone has a medical emergency during a service. Worship with us!

Holy Eucharist, Rite I Sunday, 8:30 a.m. A simple service (without music) held in our chapel. Refreshments follow.
There are many activities--Sunday School, and the Children's and Cherubs choirs among them--specifically created for the children of the Church of the Epiphany. And about once a month, the 11 a.m. Sunday service is designed as a Family Service. A children's homily is preached in place of a full sermon, and the children stay in the sanctuary for the whole service rather than spending a portion of it downstairs at the Sunday School. Depending upon that week's particular gospel and preacher, the kids are involved in the worship in a variety of ways, sometimes acting out a Bible story, gathering close to the altar for the Eucharistic Prayer, or contributing ideas to the Prayers of the People. Even families without children tell us that they enjoy the Family Service as a time to recall the fundamental lessons of faith and learn from the simple but sage wisdom of our youngest members!
Lay leaders are an integral component of worship at the Church of the Epiphany, and we welcome volunteers to serve as readers of the biblical lessons and the Prayers of the People during Sunday services as well as crucifers, who carry the cross in procession, and ushers, who greet congregants as they enter the church. Volunteers are also needed for the upkeep and decoration of our beautiful altar by arranging for flowers; our Altar Guild (see below link) cares for the linens and silver used during the services.
