Reading The Gospel Of John: Through the Eyes of Believers

Helen Goodkin invites everyone at Epiphany to join a free four week class at the House of the Redeemer on the Gospel of John.  This Gospel is noted for very interesting stories about New Testament folks who knew Jesus—Nicodemus, the Samaritan Woman, Mary and Martha, Thomas, Peter, Mary Magdalene.

The Cloisters: Catalyst for Meditation ~ September 25th at 10:30am

Join the Rev. Dr. Clair McPherson in looking at the architecture as well as the artifacts of the Cloisters in order to understand how, as early medieval constructs, they are deliberately designed to enhance meditation and serve as catalysts for theological mindfulness as well. They are not just objects of art or religious decor, but part of the process, in other words.

Winant Clayton Volunteers, Inc. provides a reciprocal cultural volunteer exchange program between the United States and the United Kingdom that builds character and broadens the outlook of volunteers by introducing them to diverse cultures and fulfilling their interest in helping others. 

Haiti donations through Episcopal Relief and Development - An earthquake hit the west of Haiti’s capitol, Port-au-Prince. At least 28 aftershocks of magnitude 4.0 or greater shook the country in the hours immediately following the quake.

Calling all Youth! Is there a young adult in your life ages 11-16?

Epiphany is starting a youth group for young adults. We will be meeting for conversation, service, prayer, friendship and spiritual growth.

Carpenter’s Kids News Update - The Church of the Epiphany's Outreach Program includes a group of children in Tanzania known as the Carpenter's Kids.

Homecoming Sunday! September 19th - After the 11am service, explore the various committees and activities of the church and meet the leaders of our diverse programs such as the Wednesday Homeless Dinner Program, Parish Nurses, Children's Choir, Epiphany's 20s/30s Group, etc.

The Very Reverend Ernest E. Hunt III, former rector of the Church of the Epiphany, has written his fourth novel, Terror on East 72nd Street , soon available in book stores (it mentions Epiphany Church).

Tomasito Veneracion arrived in this Muslim nation seven years ago, his Roman Catholic parishioners prayed in small groups scattered in apartments, schools, and one tiny makeshift chapel. At Easter, Indian Catholics gathered in one place, Filipinos in another, Arabs in yet another.

Family Service on Sunday, September 26th at 11:00AM - Our family services include a children’s sermon and activities for kids. All are welcome!

Bible and Brewskis will be led by the Rev. Jennifer Linman. The informal gatherings explore scripture and its connections to our everyday lives. It will be held in the Garden Room at 7pm and as usual B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Brewski).  The next gathering will be the first Wednesday of September!

Hospitality Hour - After the 8:30 and 10 am Sunday services, congregants gather for refreshments and fellowship. If you would like to volunteer to provide the food or sponsor one of Epiphany's hospitality gatherings, please sign the Hospitality Sheet posted on the bulletin board in the back of the church.
