Church of the Epiphany

Tuesday Evening Prayer Starting at 6:15pm - Join us for an evening of prayer, fellowship, meditation, and adult education every Tuesday

1st Tuesday: Evening Prayer, followed by adult education/discussion. Here, a mix of speakers (including myself) will present on a variety of subjects, including: poetry, contemplative prayer, the history of various monastic movements, “difficult texts” in the Bible, the “New Economy,” and a discussion and explanation of the core elements of the Episcopal Church’s Catechism.

2nd Tuesday: Contemplative Evening Prayer. This is a spoken Evening Prayer service with ten minutes of silence after the Gospel reading. Some weeks, additional discussion of the previous week’s topic will continue at the close of the service.

3rd Tuesday: Centering Prayer followed by Compline. This service will begin with a short meditation and instructions on Centering Prayer, followed by 20 minutes of silence. After the silent meditation we recite Compline together. 

4th Tuesday: Evening Prayer in the Garden room followed by a movie and pizza. Different members of the group will pick a movie at the beginning of each month, and an announcement will be made in advance. 

5th Tuesday (when applicable): Spoken Eucharist followed by dinner at a local restaurant.
