christmasEpiphany's celebrations include an Advent Lessons and Carols Service on the third or fourth Sunday of Advent. This service, adapted from the Christmas Eve service offered at Kings College in Cambridge each year, is a cycle of nine biblical lessons followed by hymns and carols sung by the choir and congregation. We host an annual Christmas Pageant at our 11:00 a.m. service on one of the Advent Sundays. More than forty of the Epiphany community's children and adults (and sometimes animals!) participate as shepherds and sheep, kings and angels to bring to life the events of the night Jesus was born.

On Christmas Eve, we gather at 4:00 p.m. at the Creche set up in the back of the church, which at one time was, literally, a stable itself, to tell the story of Jesus' birth. Accompanied by familiar carol-singing, it is a Family Service for children of all ages. We move forward to the altar for a simple Eucharist to give thanks for God's gift of His Son, and conclude by going out and sharing the good news that Christ our Savior is born.

At 9:30 p.m., music is played in the sanctuary by our organist, choir, and a harp. The Solemn Christmas Mass begins at 10:00 p.m., and the church radiates the light of Christ as we hear the story of the birth in Bethlehem and end our service by singing Silent Night by candlelight.
