Coming Soon!

Those of a certain age will remember book carts in the school library. They were such a convenient way to store and move books that were needed on a regular basis in class or study hall. As we renew our 45 year old partnership with Carter Burden and welcome the Senior Lunch Program later this month our hardworking Sextons are gearing up to reset the Nave twice every week—once to prepare for the Sunday liturgy by setting out all the chairs and once to prepare for the lunch program by putting away the parish’s chairs and setting out the tables and chairs needed for lunch. One of the ways to help this process be as efficient as possible is to move all the hymnals to a rolling book cart instead of placing them in the hymnal racks at each seat. We will also store the Books of Common Prayer and bring those out when they are needed.
Starting later this month, when you arrive at church for the 10:30am service in addition to picking up a Service Leaflet and the weekly newsletter, please remember to pick up a hymnal from the book cart. It will be right by the door as you enter. And then, if you would, return it to the cart after the service. With everyone’s help this new arrangement will save our sexton the time it takes to put out and then collect hymnals week after week. And, you’ll always be sure to have everything you need to fully participate in the liturgy, music, and life of your parish.
Thank you for your cooperation. And thank you to all the Ushers who will help remind everyone to pick up a hymnal as they come into church.
