Children and Youth
Children are active and involved at Epiphany -- not only in Sunday School, but also in youth group, choirs, church services, and throughout the life of our community in areas such as outreach and social justice work.
In addition to reminding the grownups that we all have a little superhero inside of us, children are encouraged to be true to themselves and their beliefs, to engage with the world around them with the strength and support of our community, to develop spiritually to their full potential.
We have special programs throughout the year, from VBS to the Christmas pageant, and lots to do during the school year.
Worship at Epiphany welcomes all ages! We also have special programs for children each Sunday morning, and the younger children join in the service after the peace.
Sunday School takes place Sundays at 10:30am for children ages 3-10, with the children joining the service after the Peace.
Epiphany has a Youth Group for ages 11-14 that meets on (roughly) one Friday evening and one Sunday after church per month.
Activities over the past years have included bowling nights, self-defense classes, and a trip to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Company perform, and other fun events!
For more information, email the church office.
All boys and girls are welcome to join. There are no auditions.
Take a look at the Music page for more information about these choirs.
Beginning at the age of 8, children of the parish are welcome to serve as Acolytes on Sunday mornings. By serving as acolytes, they learn to be leaders of worship, model good behavior, and assist very practically in serving at the altar.
Email the church office if your child is interested in becoming an acolyte.
The Church of the Epiphany Day School is a nurturing and inviting pre-school on Manhattan’s Upper Eastside that welcomes children of all faiths, ages 2.0 through 5.11 years of age.
